labouring day...
after a 3-day weekend, it always feel like a punishment to be back at work - of course the 200 new emails welcoming you back didn't help.
the bootcamp at the work fitness center started up again today, they moved it to tues-thurs, which is awesome since it puts a bit of balance into my week. we ran on the trail today, jon took it easy on us. i realized that jogging doesn't hurt my breathing as much anymore, and i don't hate it as much... it's a lot of mental hurdles to overcome; for me it's not being distracted by bright shiny objects and i end up thinking when is this over... when am i done... Still, i like bootcamp, because we work hard, and at the end of the day i feel that i've done my fair workout...
played 4 games of hockey this weekend, when i wasn't going to sign up for the tournament. i've played 3 games back to back before, which isn't as bad as you might think... but sunday i played an early game and 5 hours later played again - it's the resting in between that allows your body to feel the tiredness.
our super good goalie Ralph is starting school in New England next week, on a full hockey scholarship (at age 13!!!). he's an amazing kid, so polite and great manners - and i have told his mom so. his mom started playing hockey 4 months ago so they play together on the sunday mixed level league that i play. i think it's freaking fantastic that she plays HOCKEY with her SON; in fact there's 2 other father-son pairs on our team, the kids are 13-14. i look at ralph's mom and think i want to be a cool mom, who can play hockey with her son when he's a teen.
