promotions bullcrap...

so the announcements for promos started being emailed out yesterday - this is always a low morale point for our entire group, i'm not sure why they don't see that. instead of one quick, relatively painless "here's an email to a link where everyone who got promoted this time has a profile and we say very nice things about why they are promoted", each manager has to send a seperate email about each person that got promoted. inevitably you get idiots saying congrats in reply-all - heck if you want to kiss up please do it without spamming my inbox. every announcement is an extra stake saying 'hey, this inadequate person, who isn't as knowledgeable, or qualified as you, is getting promoted, here are some BS reasons why..."

people ask me 'why aren't u in the promos? are u feeling ok about it?' - personally i've never felt better. i knew they were screwing me this round, it's all the shit politics anyways; my manager's manager doesn't like me - she knows i ask the difficult questions... there's been the one on one meetings saying "we're pretty sure you'll be promoted next time, in march..." translates to: "...please bend over to pick up the soap from the floor... again"

not that i didn't see it coming, so the feelings of vague disappointment and satisified pessimist has long gone. i don't feel bitter even... i really do feel apathetic.
actually, what gets me through most days, is my next communication with the Mickey place. i daydream about going there, and i daydream about telling this place so.

i got 2 more calls this week from recruiters - at my work voicemail, no less. i hadn't contacted them back yet, i should just to say 'thanks, let me get back to you in 2 week's time...'.
