great friends at work...

when you think about it, work is kind of like school... and invariably you end up meeting a lot of different people.
maybe it's cuz i look younger, but i really get along with most of the rotational QAs whom are recent graduates... my observation is that most of them are smart, talented, have curiosity and a can-do attitude; and i really enjoy getting to know them - and truthfully a lot of them are much more motivated and driven that some of the people who already worked here...

Mary, who is super cool girl (and i have been told that she is like me, a few years back, bright eyes and bushy tail...) - i have taken her under my wings a bit, just as her unofficial mentor. she's got so much potential and a natural kindness and curiosity; she will be exceptional at her job one day...

mary: we just had our rotation team "graduation" and jay hanson was there, and he asked the "alumni" who they thought was the nicest/coolest person in QA was, and i thought it was a trick question, so i didn't answer - but i was thinking, AMY! but then jay makes everyone answer, and judah answers first and HE STEALS MY ANSWER, so then i had to say, yeah, i agree with judah for my answer.

i don't know why, but this touches me so. perhaps it's because lately i haven't felt like i've been the nice cool fun amy around the people at work... the whole upper management of my dept has made me a bit disillusioned.. but this is a good reminder that, life and work is what you make it... and friends, kindred spirits are everywhere you look. if my path diverges, i will miss these work friends a lot... they have made work interesting and fun....

yes, for those i work with, who knows and reads this blog, i am grateful that you are in my life because you make work days interesting. and hopefully our friendship extends beyond the workplace, and we can keep it no matter where we go... (plus if it's free food place, u can be sure i'll invite you to lunch/dinner with me)
